We Intersect, Yet, Never Connect, 2024
(Cooperated with Wenxi Lyu)
This practice begins by exploring Albert Camus’s concept of ‘Sisyphus Happy,’ which examines our human condition of constantly seeking connections with the outer world, even though our paths merely intersect with others.
The ‘breathing’ textile collage symbolizes our deep longing to become ‘one.’
The intersecting lines in the looping video projected onto the textile illustrate the relationships between individuals—we intersect with the lives of others, coming together and parting ways, much like Sisyphus repeatedly confronting the falling rock on his endless journey.
